RIDING LIFE
Do you remember when you taught me to ride?
Not to look back, just keep my eyes on obstacles ahead?
You showed me that if I stayed focused and calm,
My horse would follow my lead.
Do you remember?
I try my best to live as you taught me to ride
Because life is one hurdle after another.
Even if I knock down a pole, I keep on going
I always finish the event, because
It’s not about the ribbons – it’s about the ride.
I always ride hard, no matter how bad the weather
Or how difficult the course.
I try to exceed my own limits, and
I work harder and harder every day
Toward my goals.
